Upon entering the house, the first thing that attracts attention is the mulberry tree in the center of the yard. A yard in the middle of the house, like old houses. If we follow the steps of the house with our eyes, we will reach a single cypress tree, which is framed against the background of the sky and the tall pine of the back house; Climbing the stairs that end in the sky and a single cypress tree, we reach a viewpoint, to meet the tall pine and the yard of the father's house.
Our house was an old house in the southern neighborhood of my father's house... despite the fact that we enjoyed the house and its central courtyard, but due to the growing up of our children, we needed to expand the space.
By adding two rooms to the northern part of the C-shaped form on the upper floor and placing a roof on it (like the porch of many Iranian buildings), the design began.
In the design process, with the development of the eastern space of the house in height, an alley-like path was considered along the entrance of the house, which was then connected to a sabbat and finally to the entrance of the father's house, and in this way, the street and the alley were sewn together. In this way, the plan of the house was divided into two parts, the main volume and the Sabat.
Many elements of the design, such as: mulberry tree, water pond and brick walls, are the remaining elements from before. The connection between the floors is provided by a staircase placed in the joint between the main volume and the basement.
With the aim of separating private, public and service uses in the house, the basement accommodated service uses such as: laundry, kitchen and motor room; The ground and middle levels were dedicated to public spaces and the highest level provided private and sleeping spaces; The work space was also placed on the eastern passage in order to create a more dynamic function, separate from the main space of the house and in connection with the middle staircase.
