No. 69 of the Encyclopaedia of Architecture is specially dedicated to the architecture of Isfahan city and Dr. Mohammad Reza Ghaneei (architect of 1402). The main approach of compiling the written content of this issue, which was entrusted to the guest editor Mr. Sahand Monshi, upon the request of the CEO of this encyclopedia Mr. Shahryar Khanizad; It has been prepared and arranged based on the contemporary architecture of Isfahan.
Based on this, the editorial board of the title "Isfahan contemporary, towards author architecture?" has been considered as the policy and agenda for the production of the content of this issue. In this choice of approach, the contemporary architecture of this city has been emphasized in order to remind that "the architecture of Isfahan today" is still valuable and progressive in the course of contemporary Iranian architecture, and the architectural identity of this city is not only known by its past; Rather, "context oriented architecture in the context of Isfahan" has created a dynamic and creative identity in Iranian architecture.
In this regard, the written content of this special issue includes materials and articles such as "Architecture in the context of Isfahan", a note by Mohammad Reza Ghaneei, "From the passage of tradition to modernity, to the connection of tradition and modernity in Isfahan" by Monire Karimzadeh, "Rereading the Iranian context" by Sahand Monshi, "Extension of Iranian Thought in Contemporary Architecture of Isfahan" written by Ashkan Ghaneei and "Issue of isolation and how to biologically connect the residential fabric and the green border of Zayandehrud" written by Milad Shahbazi are assigned.
In the appendix of the above material, valuable examples of the contemporary activities of the architects of this city, which were introduced and reviewed at the first meeting of the "Architect of the Week" event, and the works of young architects such as: Malihe Salimi, Babak Peyvasteh, Ali Sheikhul Islam, Tahsin Baladi , Behnaz Sartipi, Mohsen Kafai, Farshad Ghafarzadeh, Mohammad Shamaizadeh, Shirin Shariffar, Ali Basiri, Mohsen Jafari, Ehsan Mohammadi, Mariam Alikhani Rad, Hossein Sodavi, Hamed Fotovat and Saha Golafshan.
The simultaneous compilation of the contents of this special issue and the selection of Mr. Ghaneei as the architect of 1402 by Hanremamari magazine and the review of a selection of his influential works in the contemporary architecture of Isfahan and Iran, this special issue is an integrated collection in order to introduce a corner of Isfahan's contemporary architecture, a part of The thought of its architects and the mention of the importance of context-oriented architecture in this city and the efforts made to create author's architecture in the present time have transformed it. It is hoped that with the first efforts made, more firm steps will be taken to deal with the contemporary architecture of this city.
